Pour la collection Printemps / Eté 2013 BACKLASH, Isamu Katayama s'inspire de l'Inde.
En visitant Varanasi, ville sacrée et emblématique de l'hindouisme, il est marqué par l'image des sâdhus qu'il rencontre. Celui-ci est un ascète aux cheveux longs et dont le visage est souvent maquillé de traits colorés symboliques.

Sadhual, une combinaison de " Sâdhu" et " ritual ".
Porter du cuir est tel un rite selon Isamu Katayama, passer d'un état à un autre.

Les " Product dyed " perfectos, simples ou doubles, sont déclinés du noir au marron, traités à la rouille où a la sève de Campeche pour des effets orange.

Les coloris sont sombres et rehaussés de couleurs chaudes en touche, rappel de l'Orient.
Le cuir est associé au lin, vestes ou pantalons larges, espadrilles de cuir et sandales viennent compléter ce vestiaire décontracte.

On retrouve des pièces coupées cousues en soie mélangée pour les dessous, la maille tricotée de façon irrégulière est utilisée en double épaisseur.

Des jeux de drapés et de matière mettent en valeur les silhouettes fluides de la collection.

Fidele au thème du voyage, Isamu Katayama propose pour la première fois un thème asiatique.

For his Sprig / Summer 2013 collection, BACKLASH designer Isamu Katayama found inspiration in India.
During a trip to Varanasi, a holy Hindu city, he was stuck by the appearance of the Sadhus he encountered - wandering holy men, with long hair and visually striking painted faces.


Sadhual - is a combination of the words 'Sanhu' and 'ritual'.
Katayama likens wearing leather to a rite, similar to passing from one state to another.

The 'product dyed' perfecto jackets, in single or double option, are proposed in hues of black and brown, as well as Logwood sap or rust-treated for the shades of orange.

The dark colours highlighted with warmer ones call to mind the East.
Leather is matched with linen, jackets and baggy trousers, leather espadrilles and sandals complete the laid-back feeling of the collection.

There is also a selection of cut and sewn pieces, with silk blend lining, the knitwear has been assembled in an irregular manner, layered in double thickness.

Both the draping and texture work together to highlight the fluid nature of the silhouettes.

Katayama remains ever faithful to the theme of travel, however this is his first foray into the region of Asia.
